The Villach Alpine Road is not only one of the most popular panoramic routes in Austria, but also requires a high degree of coordination and technical skill for construction work in alpine terrain. In the second construction phase, the Kostmann team has now extensively renovated a 3.6-kilometre section of road - a total of 9,000 tons of asphalt were laid and 27,000 square metres of asphalt surface renewed.
In addition to the road renewal, the Rosstratte parking lot at around 1,800 meters above sea level was also completely overhauled. An e-charging station was also built as part of the work - an important building block for sustainable infrastructure in the Alpine region.
The implementation was subject to special conditions: A tight construction window from the end of April and a necessary three-week total road closure required precise planning and a high level of coordination. The project was completed in time for the start of the vacation season - just in time for a safe and smooth start to the vacation season.
