One of the most important infrastructure projects in the region is being built in Judenburg: the new Judenburg municipal power plant. The experienced team from construction company Kostmann is implementing a construction project that will have a lasting impact on the region's energy future. With an investment volume of around 45 million euros and a planned construction period from July 2025 to October 2027, the Mur will flow around 30 meters further south in the future - a project that will not only contribute to the regional energy supply, but also improve the flood situation in the area of the Purbach confluence.
The work in the river poses a particular challenge: The underwater deepening, the construction of embankment protection and the construction of a new powerhouse and weir system require the utmost precision, experience and technical expertise. The demolition and excavation work in the Mur is already in full swing and marks the start of a construction project that harmonizes the art of engineering and environmental protection - a real future project for the Mur Valley.
