One of Carinthia’s most spectacular projects is currently taking shape with the new Kanzelbahn II on the Gerlitzen. The team from Kostmann carried out the structural work on the valley and mountain stations, the gondola garage at the valley station, as well as the column foundations and columns in the station areas, including preparations for the cable car technology. The structural work was completed in just 2.5 months, and a total of approximately 1,800 m³ of concrete was poured.
The new 10-person gondola is Austria’s most modern cable car and will connect the valley station at 1,440 meters above sea level with the mountain station at 1,911 meters. With a capacity of up to 4,000 passengers per hour, it will provide even more comfortable and efficient transportation to Gerlitzen. Construction is on schedule, so the new lift is set to begin operation as planned at the start of the upcoming winter season.
