An important milestone has been reached: the line has been opened to traffic and the first platform is already in operation. This means that part of the modern infrastructure is already available to passengers. The second platform and the remaining local and regional roads will also be completed by May 2026.
The project, which was launched in February 2024, is being implemented by the Kostmann team without disrupting rail traffic. Step by step, not only new road and footpath underpasses are being built, but also a spacious passenger tunnel.
Impressive construction work is required to implement these extensive measures: From around 20,000 m³ of concrete to over 200,000 tons of ballast material.
